Peter P. Polansky, age 66, of Old Forge, died Wednesday at Regional Hospital of Scranton after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Millie Anthony Polansky. The son of the late Peter & Helen A. Czerkas Polansky, Pete was a graduate of Taylor-Moosic High School, Class of 1964, attained rank of Eagle Scout, & was a proud veteran of the US Navy. As an ASE Certified Master Automotive Technician, he owned & operated Polansky’s Performance Center for over 30 years. Pete was a member of the NHRA, as well as a drag racer himself. He earned his second degree Tang Soo Do black belt at the age of 56. The most well-known of his extraordinary talents was his storytelling of his beloved Uncle Stosh. He is also survived by his daughter Christene Nystrom & husband Robert of Phoenixville, his son Peter & wife Sarah of Duryea, his greatest joys, grandchildren Eva Madeline & Nicholas Peter Nystrom, brother John & wife Rosemary & sister Maryann Surdick, two aunts, an uncle, nieces, nephews, & cousins. |
