Mary Harrington, age 78, of Danville, formerly of the Keyser Valley Section of West Scranton, died Tuesday afternoon at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. She was the widow of John J. Harrington who died June 10, 2004.
Born on June 27, 1926 she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Catherine O’Donnell Haggerty, she settled in Danville 7 years ago. She was a graduate of West Scranton High School and attended Keystone College.
Before her retirement she was employed by the former Globe Store in Scranton. She was a member of St. David’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyser Valley Section of Scranton and was a member of the church’s Altar & Rosary Society
She is survived by her two sons,
Dr. Thomas Harrington and his wife Patti of Danville and
Paul Harrington and his wife Maribeth of Scranton.
Two daughters, Ann Magee and her husband Richard of Ocean View, N.J. and Nora Burnham and her husband Richard of Lake Ariel. Eight grandchildren;Brian Harrington and his wife Kiersten, Amy Harrington, Becky and Andrew Magee, Megan Harrington, Katie, R.J., and Sean Burnham.One great granddaughter Leah Nicole Harrington and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Friday at 10:30 A.M. from the Durkan-Cuff-Kearney Funeral Home, 125 N.Main Ave., West Scranton with mass of the christian burial at 11:00 A.M. in St. David’s Roman Catholic Church, corner of Jackson and Keyser Avenue in the Keyser Valley Section of Scranton to be celebrated by the Rev. Thomas G. Sarnecki, Pastor. Interment will be at Cathedral Cemetery in Scranton.Friends may call Thursday from 5-8 P.M.
