Harry Pecushok, age 83, a resident of the Mountain View Care Center in South Scranton for 1 week, formerly of Old Forge , died Tuesday evening at the Center.
Born in Old Forge on August 8, 1921 he was the son of the late Stephen and Rose Budnovich Pecushok. He was a graduate of Old Forge High School and the New York City Trade School in New York City. He served in the Navy during World War II as a motor machinist’s mate 3rd class.He received the WWII Victory Medal and the Good Conduct medal while in the service. He was employed by General Dynamics in Eynon and was a member of St. Michael’s Russian Orthodox Church, Old Forge.
He is survived by his four sisters,
Alice Janus of Sunbury, Pa.,
Mildred Krenitsky and Marie Grabania both of Old Forge, and
Genevieve Barile of Moosic and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother Michael.
The funeral will be Saturday at 9:00 A.M. from the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, 517 North Main Street, Old Forge, with a funeral service at 9:30 A.M. in St. Michael’s Russian Orthodox Church , Summer Street in Old Forge to be celebrated by the Very Rev. S. David Mahaffey, Rector. Interment will be at St. Michael’s R O Cemetery in Old Forge.Friends may call Friday from 5-8 P.M. Parastas services will be conducted at the funeral home at 7:00 P.M. on Friday.
