David W. Reese, age 76, of Moosic, died Sunday afternoon at the Taylor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Taylor.
He is survived by his wife Romayne Sweet Reese.They celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary on August 23rd. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Corrine Shevelot
Born in Scranton on October 29, 1928 he was the son of the late Merthyn and Ada Mackinder Reese. He was a graduate of the former Scranton Central High School and also Keystone College in LaPlume.He received his Bachelors Degree from Penn State University. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII where he received the WWII Victory Medal.Before his retirement he was employed by Colors Paint in Scranton.He also formerly worked for the Peter Paul Candy Company, JC Penney Company and for Lake Adventure in Lords Valley. He was a member of Moosic Presbyterian Church, Moosic. He was a member of Schiller Lodge # 345 F & AM , Scranton and a former member of the Acacia Lodge # 579 F & AM in Taylor.
Also surviving are three sons,
Dr. Douglas Reese of Jacksonville, Il., Dr. Gregory Reese of Port Treverton, Pa., and David Reese, Jr. of Lock Haven.Two Daughters,
Lori Dende of Glendale, Arizona.and Barbara Reese of Waterville, Pa.
One brother, Dr. Robert Reese of Lock Haven. Two sisters,
Joan Jenkin of Clarks Summit and
Carol Gibboney of Huntingden, Pa. An aunt, Megan Hall, Scranton.12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, 517 North Main Street, Old Forge with services by the Rev. Dr. Susan J. Ezell, Pastor of the Moosic Presbyterian Church, Moosic. Interment will be at Fairview Memorial Park in Elmhurst.Friends may call Tuesday from 6-9 P.M.
Masonic Services will be conducted Tuesday evening at 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home
