Alberta L. (Silfee) Klebon, age 65 and a lifelong resident of the Rocky Glen section of Avoca, passed away Monday evening at Geisinger Wyoming Valley, after a longtime illness.
Born in Scranton on July 10, 1955, and beloved daughter of Hazel (Decker) Silfee of Avoca and the late Albert L. Silfee, Sr., Alberta was a graduate of Riverside High School, Class of 1975 and a longtime member of the Moosic Alliance Community Church.
Prior to illness, she absolutely loved the outdoors. An avid hunter and camper, she also enjoyed fishing. Later in life she loved crafting and would always have a jigsaw puzzle nearby. Outgoing, she was friendly with anyone in her presence, and a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt, she will forever be missed by her loved ones.
She is also survived by her daughter, Emily Silfee Votano and fiance Thomas Robbins, at home; her siblings, Albert L. Silfee, Jr. of Avoca, Clarence B. Silfee and wife Denise of Scranton, Edwyna Cox and husband Gary of Lake Ariel, Hazel Laggan of Forest City and Andrea Frable of Scranton; her granddaughter, Ariel Beitz and husband Brian; her great grandson, Marshall Beitz; 12 nieces and nephews, 26 great nieces and nephews and 14 great-great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services by Rev. Erik Ferguson, Pastor of the Moosic Alliance Community Church, are scheduled for Saturday at noon in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge. Interment will follow in the Madison Union Cemetery in Madison.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday from 10:00 AM until services at the funeral home.
