Obituaries

Andrea (Simko) VanLouvender of Exeter and formerly of Taylor, passed away on Tuesday morning at Highland Manor following illness. She was 78 years old.

Born on March 5, 1948, and raised in Laflin, Andrea was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Radilla) Simko. Prior to retirement, she was a familiar face at Price Chopper in Taylor where she worked in the bakery for many years.

To be remembered in so many ways, Andrea was an animal lover who adored cats and dogs. An avid gardener, she also always enjoyed a good video game of Tetris or Solitaire.

She was truly beloved to all who knew her. From family to strangers, to know her was to love her and she will certainly be dearly missed.

She is survived by her children, Alfred VanLouvender and wife Jessica of Taylor, Andrew VanLouvender of West Wyoming and Anthony VanLouvender and wife Cassandra of Nanticoke; her adored grandchildren, Aleah, Anna, Michael, Adeline and Elena; and nieces and nephews.

The last of three Simko siblings, she was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Simko, and a sister, Jean Fortini.

Her family would like to acknowledge and thank the entire staffs of Highland Manor, Oak Ridge Health Care Center and Compassionate Care Hospice for their collective care and compassion to both Andrea and her family.
