Tricia (Roche) Beck, 68, of Scranton, passed away suddenly on Monday, June 29th at home. Her husband of 29 years was Robert Beck, who died February 19, 2014.
Born April 25, 1958 in Scranton, daughter of the late John “Jack” and Barbara Reap Roche, Tricia was a 1976 graduate of West Scranton High School. She furthered her education at Keystone College studying Art and graduated from Empire Beauty School. A hairstylist by trade, Tricia worked for Bob Henkel, Changes Unlimited, and was currently still practicing with Secrets Hair Salon in Taylor. Tricia was a member of Friends of Bill W. and a volunteer with the Alzheimer’s Association, where she was active with their annual Walk to End Alzheimers. Tricia was a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Parish, West Scranton.
Known affectionately as “TT”, Tricia had an immense love for her family. Family gatherings at her home, especially on Thanksgiving, were a special time, but New Year’s celebrations were for her and the kids alone. Ringing in the New Year with her nieces and nephews, banging pots and pans, and making memories was her favorite way to end the old year and start the new year. Tricia enjoyed traveling, especially to New Orleans and the Jazz festivals, all types of music, journaling, and animals. Taken too soon, her memory will live on in the lives she touched so sweetly with her fun-loving and compassionate way.
Surviving are her loving family: daughter, Londyn Beck, Philadelphia; granddaughter, Dovi Beck, Philadelphia; sisters, Kathleen Bevilacqua, Jackie Crockenberg, and husband, Doug, and Jeanne Aquilina, all of Scranton; brothers, JJ Roche, Moosic, and Frank Roche, and wife, Linda, Elmhurst; brothers-in-law, Ken Norton, Scranton, and Jerry Beck, and wife, Arlene, Hamlin, and sister-in-law, Marsha Beck, Scranton; nieces and nephews: her goddaughter, Kathleen Norton; Selene Marsala, Mario Bevilacqua, Kearson Marzolino, Kearea Hogan, Kayleigh Roglich, Nicole Norton, Kenny Norton, Sal Aqualina, Taylor Aquilina, Kelsey Roche, John Roche, Brenna Roche, Jack Roche, Melissa and Martin Buzzard, Kelly and Michael Plishka, Paula and Ted Burntsen, Donna and Tim Dietz, Lisa Jones, and Chris and Angie Beck; Godmother, Midge Harrity; and her “furever” faithful friends, Bebe and Nola.
Her sister, Barbara Norton, brother-in-law, George Beck, and wife, Yvonne, and nephew, Dana Jones also preceded her in death.
A Celebration of Tricia’s Life will be held on Wednesday, July 8th, at 7 PM in the Kevin K. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 N. Main Avenue, Scranton with Rev. Richard Fox, pastor of St. Patrick’s Parish, officiating. Private interment, with her husband, will be in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday from 4 PM until the time of the service in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Northeast PA, 57 N. Franklin Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702. To leave an online condolence, please visit the funeral home website.
