Ozie Brent, 73, a longtime resident of Scranton, Pennsylvania, went home to his eternal reward on Tuesday at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton.  His wife of 22 years Falva Lana Brent.
Born December 23, 1952 in Prentiss MS, son of the late Cassie and Pearl Poke Brent, Ozie was educated in Prentiss and Monticello High in Mississippi.  A longtime truck driver for Aramark prior to his injury.  A devoted and faithful member of Salvation Apostolic Temple, Scranton, since 2012, Ozie served as a deacon and was a member of the trustee board and choir and also as “his Bishop” armor bearer.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and uncle, Ozie put his family first and foremost in his life.  He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, taking them to the park, and giving them snack, and everything else they wanted.  Fishing was a passion he took very seriously, and he enjoyed playing his bass guitar, spending time with family, and most of all, going to church.  An avid San Francisco 49ers fans, his devotion to his favorite team was unmatched by anyone.  Taken too soon, Ozie’s love and spirit will forever live on in the lives of those he touched.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife are his beloved children, Sienna Brent, Scranton, PA, Michael Brent, Baton Rouge, LA, Wayne Brent, and wife, Jessica, Elmira, NY, Christine Brent, Scranton, Shunda Brent, Jackson, MS, Lakeisha KenFaisal, and husband, Adzogble, Columbus, OH, Andrenette Brent, Scranton, Mar’ve Casas-Santiago, and husband, Joan, Scranton, and Camiela Massa, and husband, Fabio, Philadelphia; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; Siblings, Larry Brent, Charlie Brent, Linda McGowen, Joyce Williams, and Rose Morgan; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A son, Christopher Deon, and Siblings, Willie Ray, Cassie, Jr., Ernest James, Martha Ann Bridges, Betty Jean Peters, Clarence, Willie C., Robert Lee Johnson, Flo Mae, and Sergio Ray, preceded him in death.
A homegoing service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00am at Salvation Apostolic Temple Church, 223 N. Main Ave., Scranton, with Bishop Ray B. Johnson, Pastor, officiating.  Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Dallas.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 10:00am to 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Salvation Apostolic Temple, 223 N. Main Ave., Scranton, PA  18504.  Arrangements are under the care of the Kevin K. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 N. Main Avenue, Scranton, PA.
