Richard “Rick” P. Pryor, 77, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026, at Oak Ridge Rehabilitation Center in Taylor, Pennsylvania, where he was compassionately cared for and deeply loved by the staff of Oak Ridge and Serenity Hospice.
Born on December 4, 1948, Richard was the son of the late Margaret “Tess” and Eugene Pryor. Raised in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, he graduated from the former Central Catholic High School in 1966 and continued his education at Penn State University.
A hardworking and dedicated businessman, Richard went on to found and own Pryor Construction, where he built not only a successful company, but also a reputation for integrity, determination, and craftsmanship.
Richard was a father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who took great pride in his family. He is survived by his daughter Kimberly Zondlo and her husband Joseph of North Carolina, along with their children Alyssa, Haley, and Tanner. He is also survived by his daughter Christine Di Monte and her husband Dr. Giuseppe Di Monte of Maryland, and their children Giuseppe (JJ) and Maya. He is additionally survived by his brother Dr. Eugene Pryor and his wife Deborah Pryor; their daughter Dr. Meagan Pryor and her husband Dr. Joseph Cheslick and their children, JJ and Joshua Cheslick; and their daughter Kaeley Pryor.
His memory will live on through the lives he touched and the family he loved.
