Joseph R. Duda, 75, of Taylor, passed away Saturday evening at Third Avenue Health and Rehabilitation, Kingston. His wife of
52 years is the former Linda Lukasiewicz.
Born February 3, 1950 in Taylor, son of the late Michael and Mary Comer Duda, Joseph was a graduate of Riverside High School. Honorably discharged as a Cpl, Joseph served his country in the United States Marine Corps Reserves during the Vietnam War. Employed by Leslie Fay, Joseph retired from PennDOT serving as a bridge inspector. He was a member of St. Nicholas of Myra Byzantine Catholic Church, Old Forge.
A loving husband, son-in-law, brother-in-law, and uncle, Joseph loved his family with all his heart, and was proud of their accomplishments. An avid sports fan, Joseph could often be found rooting his favorite teams on, including the NY Giants, NY Yankees, and Notre Dame. His loss leaves a big hole in our hearts, but the memories will live on for years to come.
Surviving in addition to his wife are: brother, Michael Duda, and wife, Linda, Moosic; mother-in-law, Helen Lukasiewicz, Taylor; Brother-in-law, Chester “Chet” Lukasiewicz, Jr., Taylor; niece and godchild, Tiffany; his furever faithful friend, Sammy; and several cousins.
Father-in-law, Chester Lukasiewicz, Sr. and nephew, Gary Lukasiewicz preceded him in death.
Private arrangements are under the care and direction of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge.
