Obituaries

Born on March 10, 1949, to Richard and Winifred Howell, Betty spent her life rooted in love, dedication, and kindness. She was a loyal employee of Penn Paper and Supply Company for 45 years, where she was known for her work ethic, warmth, and steady presence.

Betty is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, William Reese; their four children, Jeffery (and wife Tracy), William, Renee (and husband Paul), and Leah; seven grandchildren; Arielle, Ethan, Alexis, Dylan, Seth, Reese, and Morgan  and three great-grandchildren: Carly, Dean, and Brock. She is preceded in death by sisters Faith and Daveen and also leaves behind her loving siblings Eleanor, James, and Cathy, as well as countless extended family and friends whose lives she touched.

In her retirement, Betty found joy in simple pleasures — relaxing at the shore, baking, crafting, reading, and especially attending the activities and milestones of her grandchildren. Her gentle spirit, unwavering support, and boundless love for her family will always be remembered.

Betty’s presence brought light into every room, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her.

A celebration of Betty’s life is scheduled for Monday at 6:00 PM at the Kevin K. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Ave., Scranton, to be led by her son, Jeff.
