Lance B. Jones, 80, of Plains, PA and Cape Coral, FL, died peacefully Sunday morning at Oakwood Terrace, where he had been a resident for over a year.  His loving and devoted wife of 51 years is the former Mary “Mimi” Cappelloni.  The couple was wed on September 8, 1973.
Born May 29, 1944, in Taylor, son of the late Robert J. and Pauline Oister Jones Hopkins, Lance was a 1962 graduate of Taylor-Moosic High School.  A United States Air Force Veteran, Lance served honorably during the Vietnam War from 1964-1968.  Lance was employed by Times-Mirror Book Company in the Book Division, Dunmore, for 24 years, and then Brewers Outlet, Dunmore, until his retirement in 2004.
A loving husband, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend, Lance put his family above all else.  A close second was his passion for Muscle Cars, especially the Z28 Camaro, and his Corvette, which was his baby.  From car shows to NHRA Drag Races at Maple Grove, the smell of burning rubber and the roar of the engine brought Lance much excitement.  His memory will live on in the wonderful stories and memories he made with his loved ones.
His family would like to offer a special thank you to the nurses and aides at Oakwood Terrace and Compassionate Care Hospice for the amazing care and compassion you offered to Lance.  You were “angels” in human form, and your kindness will never be forgotten.
Surviving in addition to his wife are: sisters-in-law, Ann Barrett, and husband, Joseph “Goph”, Scranton, Barbara A. Lynch, Powhatan, VA, Eileen Cappelloni, Hawley, Linda Cappelloni, Scranton, and many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Brothers-in-law, Marshall Cappelloni, Robert Cappelloni, and wife, Joan,John Cappelloni, and Thomas A. Lynch preceded him in death.
Private arrangements were held by the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge, and burial was in Milwaukee Cemetery, Clarks Summit.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN  38105, Shriners Hospital for Children, 3551 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140, or Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge, 974 Lockville Road, Dallas, PA  18612.
