Mary Jane “Candy” Grey, 73, of Dallas, died Monday, on her birthday at home.
Born March 24, 1952 in Dallas Twp., daughter of the late Carl Eugene and Lila Jean Hawley Grey, Candy was raised by Eva Grey, who she considered her mother. A graduate of Lake Lehman High School, she was employed by RCA, Gould Battery, and later, Lowe’s Distribution Center. She was also a social member of American Legion Post 967, Harveys Lake.
A loving and compassionate person, Candy loved her family, and especially enjoyed spending time with her daughters and grandchildren. Small in stature, she was a true spit fire and lived her life on her own terms. To say she was an avid Steelers fans would be a huge understatement. She had a true passion for fishing and loved her furever faithful friends, Lelo and Maisie. Taken too soon, Candy will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving are: daughters, Shannon Krushinski, Endicott, NY, and Tonia McCants of Binghamton, NY; three grandchildren, Braydon Baron, Mt. Cobb, Christopher Smith, Michigan, and Chas Titus, Endicott, NY; sister, Diane Sosnowski, Kingston; brothers, Ronald Grey, and wife, Millie, Harveys Lake, Bob Grey, Towaco, NJ; and David Grey, Columbus, NE; and several nieces and nephews. A sister-in-law, Madeline Grey, and brothers, Carl, Richard and Roy Grey preceded her in death.
A Celebration of Candy’s life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge, 974 Lockville Road, Dallas, PA 18612.
Arrangements by the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 N. Main Street, Old Forge.
