Conrad L. Melucci, of Dickson City, passed away on Friday at Allied Hospice following an illness. He was 79 years old.
He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Gail (Leonard) Melucci. The couple would have celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on October 14th.
Born on August 22, 1945, Conrad was the son of the late Patrick and Evelyn (Johnson) Melucci. After settling in Old Forge at the age of five, he was educated in Old Forge Schools before proudly serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Stationed in Germany, he was honorably discharge from service in 1972. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a manufacturing foreman in several local factories.
Conrad will long be remembered in so many ways. He always enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a longtime collector of coins and sports cards, and a sports fan, he was a loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
Conrad will certainly be remembered for his selfless nature. He was sentimental, loving, giving and honest (he always told it how it is). His humor unforgettable, he was a savvy Facetimer who was always checking-in with his loved ones, despite the time of day (or night).
He was a man of great faith and prayer, while also a loyal member to the Mill City Assembly of God Church. He adored his animals, was devoted to his family, and had peace in knowing he is now home with the Lord after passing away peacefully surrounded by his loving family.
Along with Gail, he is survived by loving family including daughters, Ann Campano and companion Frank Bartalotta of Exeter, Brenda Moska and companion Russ Geisinger of White Haven and Lisa Barrett of Chicago, Il.; 8 grandchildren, Joseph Campano and wife Olivia, John Campano, Toni Shane, Bernie Moska and wife Ashley, Brian Barrett and wife Kelsey, Ian Barrett and wife Katelyn, Nathan Barrett and Kalie and Joshua Barrett and wife Lydia; and many great grandchildren; three step-children he considered his own, Robert Kresge and wife Robin, William Kresge and companion Linda Jenkins and Karen Kresge and companion Tim Morgan, all of Scranton; siblings, Joseph Melucci and Rose Ann Coles, both of Duryea; and many nieces and nephews. A sister, Leota Bartoli, also preceded him in death.
His family would like to acknowledge and thank the entire staffs of VA Medical Center, DaVita Kidney Care, Geisinger Health Care and Allied Hospice inpatient unit for the collective care and compassion shown to Conrad throughout his illness.
A celebration of Conrad’s life is scheduled for Saturday, April 5th, at Mill City Assembly of God, 167 Mercy Lane in Dalton, with blessings at 11:00 AM by Rev. James Rugg, Pastor. Family and friends may pay their respects at the church from 10:00 AM until services.
Arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge.
