She was born in Old Forge on February 19,1925. She always remained very close to her special Aunt, Veronica Solomon, throughout her life. Pauline was also predeceased by two brothers Peter and Leonard and her infant great grandson, Matthew Schoettlin.
Pauline graduated from Old Forge High School, and never missed a day of school from kindergarten to the day she graduated high school. She worked as a bookkeeper in her early life. Pauline was a lifelong parishioner of St Nicholas of Myra Byzantine Catholic Church, Old Forge. In 1958 she married Joseph Yablonsky and they built their home in Taylor.
Pauline has one son, Peter Yablonsky, and his wife Sally, who reside in Apalachin, NY.; one grandson, Joseph Yablonsky and his wife Tiffany; two step grandchildren, Jill Schoettlin (Michael) and Jeff Valenta (Shannon), and four great grand children. Pauline is survived by her sister-in-law, Helen Sawyer, and her lifelong friend, Romayne Schafka; several nieces and cousins. In her final years she looked forward to her special visits from great grandchildren, Katie, Ashley and Hunter, when they were in town.
Her family would like to thank the staff at Ideal, especially on Rose Court, for their amazing care in Pauline’s final years.
Funeral services are scheduled to begin on Thursday at 9:30 AM from the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge, with a 10:00 AM Mass at St. Nicholas of Myra Church in Old Forge to be celebrated by Rev. Eduard Shestak, Pastor. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 4-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Pauline’s name may be made to St. Nicks Byzantine Church, 140 Church St., Old Forge, PA. 18518.
