Obituaries

Janice “Jan” (Sledzinski) Muskey, 67, a resident of Factoryville, passed away Sunday at Dunmore Health Care Center. Born August 28, 1957 in Scranton, PA, daughter of the late Mike and Mary Ann Sledzinski. Jan worked before her retirement at The Arc of NEPA caring for specially challenged individuals. Often times bringing joy and laughter to her clients bringing them to her home for family gatherings and holidays. Jan lived in Taylor for several years then settling at Basset Pond in Factoryville. There she enjoyed many memorial moments with family and friends by having cookouts, fishing and swimming in the pond. Jan loved painting. It was her passion. She continued to paint until she couldn’t anymore. She brought her passion for painting to other people. She opened a ceramics shop with her Aunt Rose Sledzinski and her artwork was featured in some Ceramics Magazines. She also painted Christmas murals on windows at local shops around town during Christmas time.

Jan has left a hole in the hearts of those who loved her and will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. Especially her loving partner Joe Barry, children John Muskey and partner Susan, Jason Muskey and partner Ashlee, her grandchildren Jacob, Melody and Izzy, sisters, Karen Roberts, Judy Kermidas, Ruth and Tom O’Neil, the late Linda Sledzinski, brothers, Michael Sledzinski, Chris Mehall, Thomas Mehall and nieces and nephew,  Zoey Kermidas, Brittany Halpin and Jamie Roberts.
