Obituaries

Marilyn Pocius Shelton of Scranton died peacefully in her sleep at home on March 13, 2025. The daughter of Edward and Aldona Pocius, she grew up in West Scranton with her four brothers. She graduated from Scranton Central High and Penn State University. She taught advanced English at the high school level and was an accomplished poet. Her poems appeared in over thirty literary journals and her book “What the Light Has Shown” was published by Mellen Poetry Press.
