Irene (Lizak) Dolman, a lifelong Dupont resident, passed away on Sunday evening at the home of her son in Jenkins Twp., following an illness. She was 95 years old.
On February 28, 1988, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 39 years, Roy Dolman, Jr.
Born in Dupont on December 6, 1929, and daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Seamen) Lizak, Irene graduated from the former Dupont High School on June 7, 1948. Prior to her retirement, she was a career garment industry worker and a member of the I.L.G.W.U.
Irene adored people. She treated others as if they were family, and they were always welcomed in her house with the same warmth and hospitality. She was an amazing cook certainly noted for her homemade pierogies.
Above all else came her family and her faith. She especially adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and she was a longtime member of the Full Gospel Chapel in Avoca.
Reunited with her loved ones who have preceded her, she’s now at peace.
She is survived by her sons, Tony Dolman and wife Michele of Jenkins Twp. and Frank Dolman and wife Pam of Trucksville; grandchildren, Stephanie, Justin, Anthony, Kyle, Felix and Jordan Dolman, Alyssa Heck, David Willsey, Mark and Tony Scaramastro, Barbara Kozma; 13 great grandchildren; siblings, Matthew Lizak of Fl. and Veronica Strasburger of Dickson City; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her dear children, Paul Dolman and Joan Scaramastro; and siblings, Agnes Golenski, Betty Morganti, Julia Lizak, Mary Tousaint, Margaret Lepper, John, Frank, William, Andrew, Joseph and Thomas Lizak.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Full Gospel Chapel, 1113 Main Street in Avoca, to be celebrated by Pastor Shane Nichols. Burial will follow at Marcy Cemetery in Duryea. Family and friends may pay their respects at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until services. Those attending the funeral are asked to go directly to church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Irene’s name to the American Cancer Society c/o P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
