Kim M. Fitzgerald of South Scranton passed away on Thursday at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Hazleton following an illness. She was 66 years old.

Born on August 20, 1958, Kim was the daughter of the late Francis and Catherine (Brownlie) Fitzgerald. Affectionately known as “Ma Kim”, she was active in Scranton’s Keystone Mission where she became an influential member of its community helping to revitalize the fortunes of others. She also had an extended family within the Catherine McAuley Center of Scranton. She also enjoyed crafting, especially alongside her nieces and nephews.

Her volunteerism, kindness and perseverance through hardships will never be forgotten.

She is survived by her siblings, Dawn Latham, Darlene Cavanagh, Francis Fitzgerald and Lisa Morra; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and dear friends, including Sister Kathleen Smith.
