Joseph “Joe” J. Palma, III, a longtime Old Forge resident, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday at St. Luke’s Hospital in Allentown. He was 52 years young.
Born in Old Forge on July 21, 1972, Joe was the son of the late Deborah and Joseph John Palma, Jr. After attending Old Forge High School he began his career in sales. Specializing in used automobile sales, Joe was the owner of Joey P’s Auto Sales in Moosic while possessing a lifelong love for cars.
A sports fan, especially of Pittsburgh Steelers football, Joe also enjoyed a little gambling from time to time and was never one to pass up a casino trip with family and friends. Despite some of the tough cards Joe was dealt in his life, he was a good person with good humility and a big heart. His family meant everything to him, especially his son, and certainly now at peace, he will never be forgotten.
Joe is survived by his son, Joseph Palma, IV, of Moosic; his brother, Jason Palma of Old Forge; and aunts and uncles, especially those so dear to him, Tricia Karam of Clarks Summit, Genine Davis of Old Forge and Chuck Karam of Old Forge; and many cousins and friends.
A celebration of Joe’s life will be on Friday at the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge, with visitation between 4-6:00 PM to be concluded by a blessing service by Rev. August Ricciardi. Private interment, Old Forge Cemetery.
Please visit the funeral home’s website for directions or to leave a condolence.
