Margaret (Hall) Urban, a Duryea native, passed away on Saturday at Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore at the young age of 100.
It was on April 28, 2004 that she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter A. Urban.
Born in Taylor on March 16, 1924 and daughter of the late Isaac and Susan (Coolbaug)h Hall, Margaret was a graduate of the former Duryea High School’s Class of 1942. She had worked in the local food industry as store manager however she was also a talented seamstress.
A devoted Roman Catholic, she was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Duryea prior to its closure before becoming Holy Rosary Parish.
She was also an active member of the former Austin Heights and St. Mary’s Senior Citizens, St. Mary’s Senior Citizens, both of Old Forge.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Peggy Schwab and husband Tony of Warwick, and Rosemary Urban of Duryea; four grandchildren
three great grandchildren
and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a loving son Philip Urban on August 8, 2022, and by siblings Joseph Hall, Dorothy Kwiatkowski, and Barbara Tinklepaugh. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Thursday at 10:00 AM at Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Holy Rosary Church, 127 Stevenson Street in Duryea, to be celebrated by Rev.. Michael Bryant, Pastor. Burial will follow at Marcy Cemetery in Duryea. Family and friends may pay the respects on Thursday prior to mass.
