Stephen Wayne Hansen, age 79, of S. Abington Twp., passed away on Sunday at home. He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia (McCormick) Hansen. Wed on May 23, 1986, the couple were married for 38 years.

A Philadelphia native, Stephen was born on February 24, 1945, to the late Thomas J., Jr. and Catherine (Hubbard) Cousin. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War prior to his honorable discharge from service.

After studying computer information systems, he would earn his Bachelor’s Degree with summa cum laude distinction from Wilkes University, a great point of pride for Steve. For over 30 years, he worked for Hewlett-Packard prior to his well-deserved retirement.

Stephen was an avid collector of all things, especially coins. He enjoyed traveling, having visited countless U.S. National Parks, and some of his fondest memories were made while on cruises with Patricia and his best friends.

Stephen was kind, patient, and always wearing a smile. He would selflessly do anything for others before doing for himself. Passing unexpectedly, he will forever be missed by his loved ones.

Along with Patricia, Stephen is survived by his children, Scott Hansen and companion Gina Brozzetti of Olyphant; Joanne Thomas and husband Craig of Boston, MA.; and Lori Nudo and husband Adam of Mesa, AZ.; grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews, including his dear niece, Patty Polizze.

Siblings, Patricia and James Hansen, have also preceded him in death.

A celebration of Stephen’s life is set for Saturday at the Kevin K. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue. Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday between 10 – 12:00 PM with a noon blessing service to follow. Private interment, Cathedral Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Stephen’s name to the donor’s favorite charity.
