David L. Shreve, 62, of Hanover Township, Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, September 25, 2024 after battling metastatic cancer. He was born July 3, 1962 in Wilkes Barre, and son of the late Larry and Shirley (Sickler) Shreve. He graduated from G.A.R. Memorial High School in 1980. He was employed at HCL Technologies (the former Telerx/C3i) for the past 14 years.
David was someone who loved making people laugh. His sarcasm and banter was second to none. He loved telling stories until we were laughing so hard, we cried. Whenever friends or family came over, he made sure everyone was well-fed and then some. He loved to cook – he prided himself on his steak and garlic chicken scampi salad. Music was a big part of his life, and he loved karaoke.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Geri Jo (Ebert) Shreve; his children Lynn Mounce and husband Joshua, Kimberly Shreve, and Krysta Shreve; his granddaughters Joelle Shreve, Aria Mounce, and Savannah Mounce; his siblings Donna Schmidt, Larry Shreve and wife Linda, Cheryl Young and husband Gary, Diane Fathel, Lorene Podufalski and husband Joe, Linda Wolovich and husband Greg, and Tammie Frederick and husband Jack; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his beloved son, David James Shreve on December 9, 2019; and a brother-in-law, John Schmidt.
A funeral service, to be celebrated by Rev. Shane Nichols, will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 N Main St, Old Forge. Interment will will follow at Orcutt’s Grove Cemetery, Noxen.
