Roberta Skutack, 65 and a lifelong resident of Old Forge, passed away on Tuesday morning at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton following an illness.
Born on May 21, 1959 and daughter of the late Robert and Marie (Ragni) Skutack, Roberta was a graduate of Old Forge High School’s Class of 1977. Roberta’s big heart was a perfect match for her profession as a certified nursing assistant. For nearly 30 years, she worked at the Taylor Nursing Home where she considered her patients extended family, continually going above and beyond to ensure they were well taken care of. Upon leaving the nursing home, she worked as a medical technician at Old Forge Manor.
Roberta will forever be remembered for her generosity and love for dogs, but beyond all else were her nieces. She lived for her nieces and considered them the daughters she never had. She will forever be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by two brothers, David Skutack and wife Lynn of Duryea and Robert Skutack and wife Tara of Pittston; her five nieces, Nicole, Nina, Deanna, Alyssa and Alexis Skutack; three great nieces, Scarlett, Zoey and Mya with another great niece on the way.
Her family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff of G.C.M.C.’s I.C.U. for the tremendous care taken of Roberta.
A Celebration of Roberta’s Life is scheduled for Monday at 11:00 AM at the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge, with blessing services before burial to follow at Marcy Cemetery.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday from 10:00 AM until services.
