Eleanor “Nori” Connor, of West Scranton, passed away Thursday morning at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton. She was 89 years old.
On March 4, 2023, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, her best friend and her husband of 24 years, James “Jim” A. Connor.
Born in Shenandoah on May 30, 1935, Nori was the daughter of the late George and Eleanor (Golden) Moss. After graduating from Mahanoy City Schools, she was employed by Atlas Powder Mill and Calvin Klein before working at Gorian as a quality control expert prior to her retirement.
With Jim by her side, Nori was an avid traveler. In their RV, the couple covered countless states and spent much of their winter with friends in Florida. Above all else came her family. Jim, her grandchildren and her church were collectively her life, and happily so. Sweet, kind, loving with an unforgettable smile, to know Nori was to love her. She will certainly never be forgotten.
She was a devoted Roman Catholic and pillar of St. Patrick’s Church Parish in West Scranton. The Jim and Nori Connor team selflessly contributed to the church in countless ways and the duo’s impact on the parish will forever remain.
She is survived by her son, Joseph Feldish and wife Nora of Mechanicsburg; her grandchildren, Allison Feldish and companion Ian Chapin and Jessica Feldish and husband Josh DeCosta; Jim’s loving children who truly welcomed Nori into their family, Jean Marie Miller and husband Gerald of Dalton, Maureen Wallace of Scranton, James A. Connor and wife Catherine of Scranton, John P. Connor and wife Vanessa of Scranton, Katherine Sanders and husband John of Dalton, Patricia Duffy and husband Patrick of Scranton and Barbara Nuckulls of Scranton; 18 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren whom meant everything to Nori; a brother, Gary Moss and wife Yvonne of CA.; and nieces and nephews.
Siblings, James and George Moss and Patricia Kern, and grandchildren, Lindsay (Connor) Stetson and Gerard Nealon, also preceded her in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Tuesday at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick’s Church, 1403 Jackson St., West Scranton, to be celebrated by Rev. Richard Fox, Pastor. Burial will follow at Cathedral Cemetery.
Family and friends may pay their respects at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until Mass. Those wishing to attend the funeral are asked to go directly to church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Nori’s name St. Patrick’s Food Pantry c/o 1403 Jackson St., Scranton Pa. 18504.
