Joseph Moore, Jr., 69, of Scranton, died Saturday afternoon at home surrounded by his loving family. His wife of 16 years is Roxanne Moore.

Born February 1, 1955 in Philadelphia, son of the late Joseph, Sr., and Mollie Jones Moore, Joseph was a graduate of Central Philadelphia High School, and earned an Associate degree from Paine College, Georgia. A jack of all trades, Joseph worked as a gym teacher, a paralegal, and was most well known as a member of Daddy-O and the Sax Maniax for the past 22 years. Joseph was a member of Salvation Apostolic Temple Church, Scranton.

A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Joseph always put his family above all. Joseph enjoyed passing time with his grandchildren and was always playing his bass guitar. With a passion for life, music, and family, Joseph was a wonderful role model for all those whose lives he touched and will be remembered for his zest for life.

Surviving are his loving family, Yusef Moore, Philadelphia, Leron Stokes,and wife, Julie, Scranton, Teron Stokes, Scranton, Quran Stokes, Philadelphia, Damon Stokes, and wife, Shi, Scranton, and Ayanna, Delaware; siblings, Kevin Moore, Ted Moore, and wife, Debra, Wayne Moore, and wife, Mina, Jerry Moore, and wife, Donna, and Brenda Jones,and husband, Marvin; 15 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Joseph’s Life will be held on Monday at 11am in the Salvation Apostolic Temple Church, 223 N.Main Avenue, Scranton, to be celebrated by Bishop Ray B. Johnson, pastor.
