Rosemarie (Aversa) Brown, 93, of Camp Hill, PA, passed away on Sunday morning, July 28 at UPMC West Shore Hospital, after a short-term illness. Her husband and high school sweetheart of 37 years was the late James D. Brown, II, who died in 1989.

Born October 21, 1930 in Old Forge, daughter of the late Anthony and Theresa Gentile Aversa, Rosemarie was a graduate of Old Forge High School class of 1949. Prior to her retirement, Rosemarie was employed by PA Higher Education Assistance Agency. Rosemarie was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Camp Hill.

Loving mother, sister, and aunt, Rosemarie placed her family above all else. Rosemarie enjoyed Italian food and would never turn down an opportunity to travel. Known for making cookies for birthdays and special occasions, her secret recipe could only be found on the back of toll house cookies. A wonderful spirit, Rosemarie will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her brother Gregg Aversa; her daughter, Teresa Brown, Camp Hill; son, James D. Brown, III and wife, Carole, Livermore, California; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Brothers Ross, Joseph and James Aversa; and sisters, Ann Calabrese and Marie Tomasetti, also preceded her in death.

A Blessing Service will be held on Friday at 1 PM in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge. Interment to follow in Old Forge Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Friday from 11 AM until the time of the service in the funeral home.
