Obituaries

Jordan E. McNear, 26, Scranton, died Sunday, July 21st, at Allied Hospice Center, Scranton.

Born October 7, 1997 in Scranton, son of Charles and Shannon Lavelle McNear, Scranton, Jordan was a 2016 graduate of Scranton High School and attended Lackawanna College.  Prior to his illness, Jordan was employed at various factories in the area.

A loving father, son, and brother, family was his life and Jordan cherished every moment he spent with his children.  Jordan was an avid video gamer.  A diehard Miami Dolphins and L.A. Lakers fan,  Jordan enjoyed all sports, and bowled in the Tuesday Night League at South Side Bowl.  Taken way too soon, Jordan will forever be remember by all whose lives he touched.

Surviving in addition to his parents are:  his pride and joy, Jaxton and Cove McNear, and their mother, and Jordan’s Fiancee, Nastagia McCloe, Scranton; siblings, Trevor and Ariel McNear, Scranton, and Morgan McNear, Peckville; two nieces, Avyanna McNear and Laylani Dixon; maternal grandfather, Michael Lavelle; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Maternal grandmother, Debra Slocum, paternal grandparents, Pamela Young and Ronald Fredericks, and uncle, Theodore McNear, preceded him in death.

Private arrangements have been entrusted to the Kevin K. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 N. Main Avenue, Scranton.
