Sandra A. Sylvester, 46, of Pittston, passed away suddenly at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre, surrounded by her family and friends,
Born January 3, 1978 in Scranton, daughter of Beverly McHale Sylvester, Pittston, and the late Raymond Sylvester, Sandra was a 1996 graduate of Pittston Area High School and earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Scranton. Sandra was employed by Prudential Retirement and was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston.
Sandy had a personality that lit up a room, a heart of gold, and was not afraid to speak the truth. She would give you the shirt off her back if she knew you needed it, and would give you her honest opinion, even if it’s not what you wanted to hear. Sandy had a profound passion for music and an unbridled love for animals. Being outdoors brought her great joy, especially running with her late dog, Maynard. Taken way too soon, she will live forever in the hearts of those she touched.
Surviving in addition to her mother are, her sister, Cindy Sylvester, and fiance, Dave Kepp, Drums; niece, Stella Grace Kepp (Stella Bella); uncles, John McHale, and wife, Janet, and Web Gilpin, cousins, and her friends who were just like family.
Her grandparents, father, and beloved “furever” faithful friend, Maynard, preceded her in death.
Sandy’s family would like to give their heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Sandy and her family during illness. You were “angels” in human form and your kindness will never be forgotten.
A Celebration of Sandra’s Life will be held on Thursday at Noon in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 N. Main Street, Old Forge, with Rev. Richard Fox, officiating. Interment to follow in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Thursday from 10 AM until the time of the service in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions maybe made in Sandy’s Memory to Blue Chip Animal Rescue, 974 Lockville Rd., Dallas, PA 18612. To leave an online condolence, please visit the funeral home website.
