Sandra A. (Hunisch) Petriello, age 72, of Moosic’s Greenwood section, passed away Thursday morning at Allied Skilled Nursing Center in Scranton. On April 9, 2008, she was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Joseph A. Petriello.

Born in Taylor on May 2, 1952, Sandra was the daughter of the late Stephen and Christel (Schlatter) Hunisch. She worked as a switchboard operator for Bell Telephone Co., and later in life became a proprietor in the restaurant industry. Passing away peacefully on Thursday, she will never be forgotten.

Of Roman Catholic faith, she was a longtime member of Divine Mercy Parish.

She is survived by her son, Joseph Petriello, II, of Pittston; her siblings, Stephen Hunisch and wife Virginia of Moosic, Christel Vahey and husband Richard of Mountain Top; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Monday at 10:00 AM at Divine Mercy Parish, 312 Davis Street in Scranton, to be celebrated by Rev. Paul McDonnell, Pastor. Burial will follow at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow. Those attending the funeral are asked to go directly to church.
