Ernest J. “Ernie” Searfoss, 74, of Scranton and a longtime resident of West Pittston, died Tuesday morning with us loving wife, Kathleen Cullinane Searfoss, by his side.  The couple was married for 14 years.
Born June 8, 1950 in West Pittston, son of the late Ernest and Louise Huff Searfoss, Ernie was a graduate of West Pittston High School and earned his Associates Degree in Architectural Drafting from Luzerne County Community College.  Ernie was employed for 37 years at Tobyhanna Army Depot as a Master Draftsman.  Of strong Christian faith, Ernie was a volunteer with the West Pittston Fire Department for numerous years.
Ernie was an honest man.  His work ethic and meticulous nature were his calling card.  Shy by nature, his personality spoke volumes.  Ernie was a great hunter and trapper who enjoyed his time at his Bradford County cabin.  He loved country music and classic rock, and his favorite band was full of his friends, the “Pro-Fun-Tour Band”.  Taken too soon, Ernie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving in addition to his wife are:  A son, Kevin Searfoss, DE; a sister, Sandra Christian, West Pittston; a brother, James Searfoss, and wife, Sue, GA; Nieces and Nephews: April Vizneski, and her children, Tristan and Keeley;  Robbie Searfoss, and wife, Nikka, and their twins, RJ and Zoey; Laurie Lombardo, and husband, Michael, and their twins, Nathan and Ryan; Wendy Hall, and husband, Ellis, and their children, Jonathan and David; and Larry Christian, and his children, Lindsey and Joshua; a great grand niece, Evelyn; and his close friend, Dave Stout.
Ernie was preceded in death by a son, Bryan Searfoss, a brother-in-law, Larry Christian; and his furever faithful friends, Bob and Roxy.
A Celebration of Ernie’s Life will be held on Friday at 7 PM in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge, with Rev. Dr. Michael Shambora, officiating.  Interment will be held on Saturday in Mountain View Cemetery, Falls.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Friday from 5 PM until the time of the service in the funeral home.  To leave an online condolence, please visit the funeral home website.
