Obituaries

Donald Colwell, 68, a resident of Dunmore, formerly of Jefferson Township, died Monday, June 3rd at Lehigh Valley Hospital- Cedar Crest.

Born October 22, 1955 in Red Bank, NJ, son of the late Joseph and Cordelia Zoll Colwell, Donald was a graduate of Scranton Central High School. Honorably discharged from the US Marine Corp, Donald served during the Vietnam War Era. Of the catholic faith, Donald volunteered as a firefighter and medic with Jefferson Township Volunteer Fire Company.

Surviving are his loving children, Cordelia Colwell, Angier, NC, and Joseph and Quinten Colwell, both of Dunmore; siblings, Susan Colwell Freeborn, Scranton and Ronald Colwell, FL; Several Nieces and Nephews.

Brothers, Joseph, Patrick, Michael, and Gary Colwell preceded him in death.

A Celebration of Donald’s Life will be held on Saturday, June 15th at 11AM in New Life Baptist Church, 840 Harrison Avenue, Scranton, with Rev. Curtis Kenyon, pastor, officiating.

Relatives and friends may pay their respects from 10AM until the time of service in the Church.
