Alberta “Punky” Susan Fox, age 44 and a Scranton native, passed away on Wednesday, April 3rd, as a result of domestic violence. She will never be forgotten.
Born on August 8, 1979, she was the daughter of loving parents, Billy and Alberta (Stormes) Fox of Scranton. A longtime certified nursing assistant, Alberta had worked in several area nursing homes while also doing private duty care.
Alberta will forever be remembered in so many ways. She was a ferocious Denver Broncos fan, loved Spanish music, and was always up for a good horror movie. She loved the ocean, and swimming, but above all else came her seven grandchildren who meant the absolute world to her. Taken from her loved ones much too soon, her family and friends will ensure that her memory will forever live on.
Along with her parents, she is also survived by her adored children, Chastity Fox, Brandon Fox and fianc√© Alexus Swingle and Kirsten Fox-Lee, all of Scranton; her seven grandchildren who loved their “nanny”, Nevaeh, Aliyah, Kai, Jaiden, Vada, Emmett and Asher; her siblings, Billy Fox, Jr. and Alysa of Scranton, Tracy Fox of Scranton and Stephanie Fox and Earl Frazier of Throop; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A beloved aunt, Elizabeth “Betty” Fox also preceded her in death.
A celebration of Alberta’s life is scheduled for Saturday between 12 – 2:00 PM at the Kevin K. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Ave., Scranton, with blessing services by Rev. Richard Fox to conclude.
Memorial contributions may be made in Alberta’s name to the Women’s Resource Center c/o P.O. 975, Scranton, PA., 18501.
