Obituaries

George Rabbetts, 79 and a lifelong Old Forge resident, passed away Friday morning at home. He is survived by his loving wife and caregiver, Nelene (Pisaneschi) Rabbetts. The couple were married on December 30, 1979.

Born on April 1, 1944 and son of the late Phillip and Helen (Gidula) Rabbetts, George was educated at Old Forge High School. He had worked for Nelene’s family business, Roots Transfer Moving Co., of Wyoming prior to retirement.

He is also survived by his son, Todd Rabbetts and wife Christina of Duryea; four grandchildren, Christopher, Lucas, Skylah and Zachary; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

On May 21, 2021, he was preceded in death by a son, Brian Rabbetts; and six siblings, Frank, Nicholas, Andrew Helen, Mary and Ann.
