Gary I. Burge, 71, of Dunmore, passed away Monday evening at home following an illness.
Born May 5, 1952 in Scranton, son of the late Joseph and Caroline Decker Burge, Gary was a 1970 graduate of Dunmore High School. A US Army Veteran, Gary served in the United States Army Reserve where he was Honorably Discharged in 1977. For 21 years, Gary worked for Affiliated Food Services and prior to his retirement, was employed by Tobyhanna Army Depot. He was of the protestant faith.
A loving brother and uncle, Gary was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed camping. Very athletic, he played in various softball leagues and bowled in various leagues. Taken too soon, he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Surviving are: brothers, Randy Burge, and fiancee, Colleen, Dunmore, Kevin Burge, and, companion, Karin Marie Strein, Old Forge, and Glenn Burge,and, wife, Michelle, Taylor; several nieces and nephews; a good friend and caregiver, Patrick Gordon; and his furever faithful friend, Baby, who misses him very much.
A brother, Joseph Burge, preceded him.
Private services are entrusted to the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 N. Main Street, Old Forge. Inurnment will take place in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst Twp. in the spring.
