Kevin Cohowicz of Taylor passed away on Wednesday morning at Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore, after an illness. He was 52 years young.
Born in Scranton on July 21, 1971, and son of adored mother, Andrea (Dudeck) Cohowicz of Taylor, and the late John Cohowicz, Kevin was educated at Riverside High School.
A skilled tradesman, there wasn’t much that Kevin couldn’t nor hadn’t done. He was happiest while using those handyman skills to help those in need, an example of his big heart and unquestioned selflessness. He had a memorable humor, genuine kindness and was an amazing son, brother, relative and friend. Now at peace, he’ll forever be missed.
He is also survived by his loving sister, Marybeth (Cohowicz) DeYoung and husband Brent of Ypsilanti, MI.; his nephew and three nieces, Victor, Lorien, Danielle and Bethany; and many dear cousins and friends.
Kevin’s family would like to acknowledge and thank the entire staff of Sacred Heart Hospice for the amazing care given to both he and his family throughout his stay.
A celebration of Kevin’s life is set for Monday at 6:00 PM in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge, to be conducted by Rev. Dr. Mike Shambora. Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday from 4:00 PM until services.
