Edyta Sudol, a native of Poland and longtime Mountain Top resident, passed away Friday evening at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Wilkes Barre surrounded by her loved ones. She was 54 years young.
On July 15, 1969, Edyta was born in Jata, Poland, to the late Eugeniusz and Maria (Dabal) Dziadura. In 1985 she moved to the United States where, shortly after settling in New Jersey, she met her future husband, Stanislaw. They married on August 22, 1987. The couple moved to Mountain Top, where they have resided since 1990, and went on to have two kids.
What will forever be remembered about Edyta is her zest for life and perpetual happiness. She was a habitual reader, enjoyed photo taking, enjoyed gardening, and adored her animals. She loved nature and made countless memories during her travels, especially on her boat at Cayuga Lake.
Above all else came her family; she held special relationships with her loved ones and on December 8th, 2023 she proudly became a grandma, welcoming the addition of her first grandchild, Savannah. Her kindness, selflessness, strength, and unconditional love are traits that made her so amazing and one to never be forgotten.
She is survived by her adoring husband of 36 years, Stanislaw Sudol; her loving children, Patrick Sudol and partner Sarah Stone of Phoenixville and Bella Carter and husband Tom of Mountain Top; a granddaughter, Savannah Rae Carter; her brothers and sisters, Krystyna, Danuta, Anna, and Janusz; and many adoring nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Henryk, Robert, Stanislawa, Mieczyslaw, and Roman; and a granddaughter, Kalina Rae Carter.
Her family would like to acknowledge and thank the entire staff of the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center I.C.U. for the collective care and compassion given to both Edyta and her family throughout her stay.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Tuesday, January 16th, at 11:00 at St. Jude Parish, 420 S. Mt. Blvd., Mountain Top, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Drums.
Family and friends wishing to attend the funeral are asked to go directly to church and respects may be paid from 10:00 AM until Mass.
Arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge.
