Obituaries

Sarah Roberts, a lifelong Scranton resident, passed away unexpectedly on Monday at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton. She was 36 years young.
A Scranton native, Sarah was born on March 15, 1987, to Eleanor (Schwing) Jones and husband Robert of Scranton. A 2006 graduate of Scranton High School, after working for Moses Taylor Hospital she most recently worked as a home health aide.
Larger than life, Sarah’s presence alone would light up any room. Her personality, however, was what made her unforgettable. She saw the best in everyone, regardless of his/her faults, and she genuinelywanted to help those in need of it.
She absolutely loved life, leaving behind an infinite amount of memories with her loved ones. She had an amazing voice, once recording a song with her sister, and she loved to dance.
Above all else came her family and she was never shy to show her affection to each and every one of them. Her son was her world and now she’s certainly looking down upon him as his guardian angel.  Never to be forgotten, Sarah will be dearly missed forever.
She is survived by her son (9), Leon; her siblings, best friend and sister, Courtny, Nicole, Alvin, Carlos, Vinchael, Rayon, Todrick and Joseph; her grandmothers, Linda Quinlan and Joyce Hines; and many  nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by grandparents, Sarah and Ab Roberts.
A celebration of Sarah’s Life is scheduled for Tuesday at noon in the Kevin K. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, Scranton. Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday from 
10:00 AM until services. Interment will be private.
