Sally (Carey) Kwak, a longtime Moosic resident, passed away Friday afternoon at Regional Hospital of Scranton, following an illness. She was 83 years young.
Surviving is her best friend and beloved husband, Edward “Eddie” Kwak. The couple recently celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on August 2nd.
Born in Pittston on July 30, 1940, and daughter of the late Arthur Carey and Mary (Carter) Carey Sweeney, Sally was a graduate of Pittston Area High School. She began her career working for the former TOPPS Chewing Gum Co. in Duryea before next working at the Taylor Nursing Home, serving in all capacities from nursing aide to activities director, prior to her retirement.
An absolutely beautiful person both inside and out, Sally will be dearly missed.
Along with Eddie, she is survived by her son, George Solomon of Wilkes Barre; her grandson, James Solomon of Noxen; her brother William “Bill” Carey of Pittston; and many nieces and nephews.
Siblings, James Carey and Darlene Lisowski, also preceded her in death.
Blessing services from the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge, will be private. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery in Avoca.
