Jessica Gammon, of Olyphant, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday. She was 28 years young.
She is survived by her greatest love and accomplishment, her beloved son Tyler.
Born in Scranton on August 3, 1995, Jessica was the adored daughter of Kelly Gammon and Joseph Skrutski, Jr. of Scott Twp. She was a 2013 graduate of Lakeland High School before spending several years working in local retail sales. Upon the birth of Tyler, Jessica took on a cherished role of full-time Mom.
Memories of Jessica are countless. She adored animals, enjoyed music and concerts and loved a good movie. She had an amazing artistic talent, was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan and she was a true Harley Davidson girl. She also loved all activities outdoors from fishing to kayaking to archery.
Above all else was her caring, loving and kind nature, always looking to help those in need. Forever looking down upon her loved ones, she would want Tyler to know she will always love him and be proud of him.
Along with her parents and her son, she is survived by her brother, Joey Gammon on Scott Twp., her grandmother, Sharon Skrutski of Olyphant; her uncle, David Gammon of Dunmore; and Tyler’s father, Paul Ackerman of Kunkletown.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Ashley Gammon; and grandparents, Joseph Skrutski, Sr. and Joan and William Gammon.
A celebration of Jessica’s Life is scheduled for Thursday at 6:00 PM at the Kevin K. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, Scranton. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday from 4:00 PM until services.
