Obituaries

Richard (Rick) J. Sutton, age 80 and a resident of Longs, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday evening with his beloved wife by his side. He is survived by his best friend and caregiving wife, Joyce E. Shannon Sutton.
A Detroit, Michigan native, Rick was born on May 22, 1943 to the late Richard H. and Mary (Radakovech) Sutton. A graduate of Sienna Heights University in Adrian, Michigan, Rick then went on to work as a supervisor for General Motors and BASF for 28 years prior to his well deserved retirement.
A past master, Rick belonged to the Sylvania-Pyramid Masonic Lodge #287 in Sylvania. A talented musician, he played guitar for the Grand Rapids Accordion Ensemble. Rick was kind and thoughtful and was an active volunteer for the Habitat for Humanity of Berkeley County, based out of Goose Creek, South Carolina. To be forever missed by his loved ones, he will never be forgotten.
Along with Joyce, Rick is survived by his daughter Dawn Sutton of Toledo, Ohio; many grandchildren and two great grandchildren, his sister, Janet Joiner of Spring Lake, MI; and nieces and nephews.
Private burial, Milwaukee Cemetery in Ransom. Arrangements were under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge.
