Rosemary A. (Balascio) Volovitch, age 72 and a resident of the Tripps Park section of Scranton, passed away Sunday morning after an illness.
Born on June 1, 1951, and raised in West Scranton, Rosemary was the daughter of the late Louis and Phyllis (Damore) Balascio. Graduate of West Scranton High School, upon marriage she would go on to raise her four beloved children.
Rosemary’s strength, courage and optimism while facing countless health ailments is forever admirable. She will lovingly be remembered in countless ways but her compassion, her empathetic nature, her selflessness and her generosity stood second to none. She loved to cook and was always a natural caregiver. She nutured her family and nursed ill family members.
She was a beautiful person both inside and out. Although her adoring family is broken hearted to have lost her, she’s now at peace. She will never be forgotten.
She is survived by her loving family, including her children, Chas Volovitch and Darnell Robinson, of Long Branch, N.J.; Jeffrey Volovitch and wife, Geri Volovitch, of Old Forge; Bill Volovitch, of Scranton; Shauna Volovitch and Nick Sheerin, of Scranton; and Chris Volovitch, of Scranton; five grandchildren, Joseph Perri, Jase and Brock Volovitch, Bobby and Natalie Puckett; beloved husband and faithful caregiver, Charles Volovitch, of Scranton; brother, Frank Balascio Sr., of Dickson City; niece and goddaughter, Kim Balascio Stegman, of Dickson City; niece, Kerri Volovitch; and nephews, Eddie Volovitch and Frank Balascio, Jr.
A celebration of Rosemary’s life will be private with arrangements under the care of the Kevin K. Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 125 N. Main Ave., Scranton.
