Lynn (Rowlands) Biscontini, age 78, of Springfield, Pa., and a Taylor native, passed away Saturday evening at home with her loving family by her side after an extended battle with breast cancer. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Nicholas (Nick) P. Biscontini Sr., on Oct. 1, 2016.
Born in Taylor, Lynn was the daughter of the late James Sr. and Mary Elizabeth (Wylam) Rowlands. Lynn was a graduate of Riverside High School and worked for the state of Pennsylvania as an assistant to the homebound early in her career. Prior to her retirement, she served as a manager at Boscov’s Department Store for over 18 years. She and her family were pillars of the Stewart Memorial United Methodist Church in Old Forge. Prior to moving out of the area, she was an active church member, Sunday School teacher and sang in the choir.
She loved singing, arts, birds, board games, time on her porch with friends and any time with family. Wherever Lynn lived she made lifelong friends and touched the lives of others. Her friends in Camden, N.C. were especially dear to her heart. Lynn was a generous, loving, exceptional friend, sister, aunt, cousin, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who adored her family. Her faith in Jesus and devotion to the church was admirable. She will forever be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Cutrufello and husband, Anthony; her stepchildren, Paul Biscontini, Lori Biscontini; Pamela Miscavage and husband, Michael; Nicholas (Nick) Biscontini Jr. and wife, Tracy; Jason Biscontini and wife, Kathy; her four grandchildren, Melissa Novino and husband, James; A.J. and his friend, Emma Vormshlag; Julia and Leah Cutrufello; her great-granddaughter, Nora Novino; and stepgrandchildren. She is also survived by her five siblings, Joyce Landmesser; James Rowlands Jr. and his friend, Dorothy Wivell; John Rowlands and wife, Dorothy; Robert Rowlands and Robin Pliss; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends may pay their respects Friday from 2 to 5 p.m. services.
A celebration of Lynn’s life is scheduled for 5 p.m. Friday at the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge, with services to be conducted by the Rev. Dr. Michael Shambora, pastor of the Stewart UMC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lynn’s name to the donor’s favorite charity.
