Kenneth “Poppy” (Ken) W. Correll, age 72, of Scranton, passed away Thursday at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton, after an illness.
Born in Scranton on March 16, 1951, and son of the late Kenneth R. and Mildred (Englehardt) Correll, Ken was a graduate of West Scranton High School.
Above all, he loved spending time with his cherished daughter and granddaughters. He led a lifelong career in the local automotive industry, and he had an immense passion for cars. He was also an avid RC plane builder and collector. He spent countless days building them and flying them at the field with his friends.
He will be missed by family and friends. He is survived by his beloved family, daughter Janine Duffy of Moosic; granddaughters, Allison and Mackenzie; and nieces and nephews. Brothers, Richard and Thomas Correll, also preceded him in death.
