Carmela Calabro, 91, a longtime resident of Old Forge, died March 13 at Hospice of the Sacred Heart.
A native of Italy born on Oct. 25, 1931, she was the daughter the late Joseph and Caterina Mallamaci Calabro. A devoted member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Old Forge, she was faithful member of the church choir for decades. She loved her crossword puzzles, was always quick to speak her mind, and always appreciated the love and kindness by those who cared for her.
The last of the Calabro family, she was preceded in death by her sister, Angela Anghelone; and brothers, Patrick, Joseph and Pasquale Calabro.
Funeral service arrangements by the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge, will be on Friday at noon at the Cathedral Cemetery Chapel, with blessings by Rev. Francis Pauselli.
