Patricia E. (Sokoloski) Cox, of Peckville and formerly of Taylor, passed away tragically at home on Tuesday. She was 72 years young. On May 9, 2001, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 29 years, William J. Cox, Jr.
Born in Scranton on December 14, 1950, and daughter of the late Edward and Claire (August) Sokoloski, Patricia was a graduate of the former Scranton Technical High School. She had worked as a seamstress for the former Rohr Lingerie in Old Forge before being employed as a pharmacy technician at Rite Aid Pharmacy.
Patricia enjoyed collecting. She loved her Disney figurines, and more recently, her gnome collection. A fashionista, she was also an animal lover who especially adored her cats.
Above all else was her kindness, caring nature and selflessness. She will be forever loved by all who knew her, from her family to her Peckville neighbors who were like extended family to her dear friends.
She is survived by her adoring son, Michael Cox of Taylor; her loving sister, Pamela Baronski and husband Gene of Scranton; her loyal companion, Nick Lachase of Peckville; and two nieces.
A sister, Shirley Collins, also preceded her in death May 24, 2020.
Private blessing services will be from the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge, with burial to follow at Old Forge Cemetery.
