Arthur “The Beav” Mills, Jr., age 68 and a longtime Old Forge resident, passed away Monday at Geisinger C.M.C., Scranton, after an illness.
Born on July 14, 1954, and raised in Old Forge, Arthur was the son of the late Arthur, Sr. and Nancy (Marsico) Mills. A graduate of the former St. Patrick’s High School in West Scranton, he then began a career in sales for Bradley-Lawless Pontiac-Nissan Dealerships in Scranton. He last worked as a health care aide for over ten years for Allied Services in Scranton.
A quiet and private man, he also kept his countless acts of kindness discreet as well. He would be there for anyone in need and he was always serving as an advocate for underprivileged children.
His favorite pastime was photography and he had a lifelong passion for music, especially rock and roll, having attended countless concerts throughout his life. He had an amazing work ethic and was adored by his co-workers. Now at peace, he will long be missed by family and friends.
He is survived by his loving family, including his children, Dana Willson and companion Kyle Lentes and Eric Mills and wife Amy, all of Scranton, and Ariel Corrigan-Mills of Clarks Summit; three grandchildren, Zackary Willson, Mia Bella Lentes and Lucas Mills; siblings, Barbara Burge and husband David and David Mills, all of Old Forge, Robert Mills of FL and Stephen Mills and wife Andie of NC; and nieces and nephews. A brother, Richard “Ricky” Mills, also preceded him in death.
Funeral services will begin on Tuesday at 9:15 AM from the Kevin K. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 N. Main Ave., Scranton, with a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church, 1403 Jackson Street in Scranton, to be celebrated by Rev. Richard Fox, Pastor. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Old Forge.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday between 4-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made in Arthur’s name to the Children’s Advocacy Center c/o 1710 Mulberry St, Scranton, PA 18510. Arrangements are under the care of the Kevin K. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., West Scranton.
