Joseph Bologansky, age 95, a resident at Oakwood Terrace in Moosic, passed away Wednesday at Regional Hospital of Scranton.
Born in Eynon on May 25, 1927, Joseph was the son of the late Peter and Mary (Dancho) Bologansky. After education in Eynon schools, Joseph proudly served in the U.S. Army’s military police during WWII and long continued his involvement with the armed forces as a member of the American Legion Post #624 of Eynon. Certainly a jack of all trades, he worked in construction most of his life prior to his retirement.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, but above all else his favorite hobby was billiards, playing regularly in several local pool leagues throughout the area. Now at peace, he will long be missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by family including nieces and nephews, Darlene Stedman of Clay, NY, Stephen Bologansky of Carbondale, Samuel Cimilluca of Syracuse, NY, and Frances Lenkiewicz of East Syracuse, NY.
The last of the ten siblings, Joseph was preceded in death by brothers, Stephen and Michael Bologansky, and sisters, Suzanne Vilgos, Ann Guzzi, Mary Cimilluca, Helen Puzza, Josephine Pochatek, Veronica Pochatek and Kathryn Balinosky.
Funeral services and military honors by the AMVETS Honor Guard with burial at Holy Ghost Cemetery in Blakely will be announced and held in the spring.
Arrangements are under the care of the Kevin K. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, Scranton.
