Beverly M. (Bennett) Kozlowski, age 88, of the Greenwood secton of Moosic, passed away Wednesday at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, John (Jack) Kozlowski on April 9, 2014.
Born on May 24, 1934 and raised in West Scranton, Beverly was the daughter of the late Verne and Lettie (Armstrong) Bennett. She had attended West Scranton High School before getting married and raising her daughter. As a waitress, she was a familiar face at the former Shookie’s Restaurant in Scranton before working for PNC Bank prior to her retirement.
Beverly was a huge baseball fan. From playing wiffle ball with her grandchildren to attending countless New York Yankees games, she loved to be around the sport. Her and Jack never passed up a trip to the Mohegan Sun Casino and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren was undoubtedly her favorite thing to do.
She had great humor and sarcasm and was a loving mom, grandma and nana who will be forever missed by family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Bauman of Scranton; grandsons, John Bauman and wife Jamie of West Wyoming and Dustin Bauman and wife Ashley of Philadelphia; great grandchildren, Natalie and Bryce Bauman; and many nieces and nephews.
The last of nine of the Bennett family, she was preceded in death by siblings, William, John and Richard Bennett, Ruth Crockenberg, Lettie Davis, Edith Norris, Trudy Shoener and Shirley McElhenney.
Her family would like to thank the staff of River Street Manor for their care and compassion throughout Beverly’s stay.
Services are scheduled for Friday at noon at Fairview Memorial Park Chapel, Elmhurst Twp., with burial to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Beverly’s name to the Manna Food Project c/o 8791 McBride Park Court Harbor Springs, Michigan 49740
