Frances “Fran” (Samsak) Cutri, age 63 and a lifelong resident of the Greenwood section of Moosic, died Sunday at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton after an illness.
Born on October 24, 1959, and daughter of the late Winfield and Jennie (Gray) Samsak, Fran was educated at Riverside High School before working as a seamstress for Brooks Manufacturing. She then went into the family trade of painting, before owning her business, Allbright Painting. More recently, she worked alongside her brother Bob for his business, A&A Painting of Moosic. Her lifelong work ethic was amazing. Fran certainly put others before herself, especially while caring for her siblings. She was never one to hold back, always speaking her mind, and an animal lover, Fran took care of countless stray animals over the years. Now at peace, she will always be missed.
She is survived by her brothers, John (Jack) Samsak of Scranton, Winfield Samsak of Scranton and Robert (Bob) Samsak of Moosic; a brother-in-law, Jerry Loeffler; and nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Jenny Loeffler, and longtime companion, George Slack.
Private burial will be at the Fairview Memorial Park in Elmhurst Twp. Arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge.
